About

Dr. Jill Yavorsky is an Associate Professor in the Sociology department and Organizational Science program at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. She received her PhD in Sociology from The Ohio State University in 2017. Her research interests include occupational segregation patterns, dynamics of economically successful couples, divisions of labor of new parents, and career and workplace outcomes. Dr. Yavorsky’s work has been featured in top academic journals including American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, Journal of Marriage and Family, and Gender & Society,  as well as in mainstream media outlets such as the New York Times, TIME, Forbes, Washington Post, Newsweek, Slate, Chicago Tribune, etc.  In addition to publishing and teaching, Dr. Yavorsky enjoys consulting with firms on issues of diversity and inclusion.

Dr. Yavorsky provides web-based and on-site consulting services for companies and organizations as well as executives on such topics as diversity and inclusion, women's leadership, work/family integration, workplace bias, and gender and racial economic inequality.
